Kinder Beginnings
Family Child Care... your child's home away from home

Welcome! My name is Stephanie and I am a mother of two... Kyndal is six and Blayke is four. As part of a large, extended family I often helped care for my younger relatives. My formal experience with children started at the age of twelve when I became a babysitter, taking various jobs all through high school including infant care, overnight care and full-time summer care. During my time off school, I volunteered as a teacher's aide at the local elementary school. For two years, I volunteered my time in other areas, including a preschool class, puppet program, chaperoned outings, and activity nights for pre-teens.

Although I have always had a love for children, until my husband and I had our own I couldn't fully appreciate the difficulty that a working parent faces leaving their child in the care of someone else. I decided to work from home, and it became an important goal to provide safe, loving and trustworthy care as a service to local families like ours.

I maintain certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid. BCII's (background checks) have been performed on both my husband and myself; the results are available for review. I am also obtaining a degree in Early Childhood Education as part of my continuing efforts to better myself and the program that I offer.    VIEW CERTIFICATIONS

Let me introduce you to our program:
Our "blended household" setting offers your child a familiar, family-like atmosphere. The children gain social skills not only with their peers, but with children of different ages and development levels. By watching older children, the younger ones are eager to learn and be involved in more developed activities. The older children often become more responsible and independent, learning patience when they wait for the younger ones.

As a Type B Home, I am permitted a total of 6 children (which includes my own under age six); this low provider:child ratio is beneficial for the quality of your child's care. Your little one will receive the personal attention they deserve, and the group quickly becomes a familiar and comfortable place. I give the children in my care the opportunity to learn and grow in a family-like setting where they can feel safe and loved, and can begin to build a positive self-image. That positive self-image is nurtured, along with their developmental growth in the areas of intellectual, social, physical and emotional skills, through a variety of group activities, individual play and quiet periods.

Our weekly themes, planned activities and scheduled outings prepare the children for transition into school. Each day consists of circle time (with stories, songs and group activities), free play, active play, educational activities, crafts and experiments. We make learning fun... after all, experts agree that children learn best through play.

Take a look around the site, and please feel free to e-mail or call me. Your questions and comments are important so that we can achieve the very best experience for your child. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with your family, and I look forward to helping shape your child's future.
